Academia Americana de Film a anuntat nominalizarile pentru premiile Oscar 2023 iar lungmetrajele „The Fabelmans” in regia lui Steven Spielberg, „Everything Everywhere All At Once” in regia lui Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert sunt favoritele anului, fiind nominalizate in majoritatea categoriilor, inclusiv „cel mai bun film”, „cel mai regizor” si cele mai bune prestatii actoricesti.
Nominalizarile au fost anuntate de Riz Ahmed, castigator al unui Oscar pentru „Best Action Live Short Film” si nominalizat pentru actorie cu rolul din „The Sound of Metal” si Allison Williams, starul si producatoarea filmului „M3GAN”, intr-o transmisiune in direct pe YouTube dar si la televiziunile de stiri.
„Everything Everywhere All At Once” conduce lista nominalizarilor cu 11, inclusiv pentru prestatiile actritelor Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis si Stephanie Hsu. Filmul este in cursa pentru cele mai bune costume, cea mai buna coloana sonora, cel mai bun scenariu, cel mai bun montaj si cel mai bun cantec original.
Lista favoritelor, din punct de vedere statistic, este completata de „The Banshees of Inisherin” in regia lui Martin McDonagh si „All Quiet on the Western Front” in regia lui Edward Berger cu 9 nominalizari fiecare.
In privinta prestatiilor actoricesti, nominalizarile au coincis cu Globurile de Aur: Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh si Ana de Armas sunt favorite in cursa pentru „cea mai buna actrita in rol principal” in timp ce Brendan Fraser, Austin Butler si Colin Farrell sunt nominalizati pentru „cel mai bun actor principal”, categorie care a produs si o surpriza: Paul Mescal este nominalizat pentru rolul din „Aftersun”. In ultimele saptamani, Mescal a fost declarat favorit pentru a deveni noul James Bond, aflandu-se in discutii cu producatorii francizei.

A 95 editie a ceremoniei decernarii premiilor Oscar va avea loc pe 12 martie si va fi gazduita de Jimmy Kimmel, va fi a treia oara pentru el in rolul de amfitrion al galei.
