Tiesto este, cu siguranta, unul dintre cei mai cunoscuti si iubiti DJi din lume. DJ Mag spune asta, miile de fani de la concerte striga asta, zecile de mii de ascultatori ai show-ului sau radio, Club Life (unde au aparut si Deepside Deejays), o sustin si ei. Nu poti spune trance sau dance fara sa spui Tiesto. Nu poti spune Traffic, Love comes again sau Dance 4 life fara sa te treaca fiori si fara sa-ti aduci aminte de cel putin un show de-al lui care te-a marcat.

Succesul lui Tiesto se datoreaza pasiunii lui imense pentru muzica, a modului in care se dedica unei cariere care-l poarta aproape saptamanal dintr-o parte intr-alta a lumii si face toate astea cu zambetul pe buze, cu castile pe urechi si cu degetele pe sintetizator. Intre toate astea mai are timp sa scrie si pe Twitter si pe Facebook, facandu-i pe fani fericiti nu doar cu muzica lui, ci si cu implicarea lui reala. Asta face din Tiesto unul dintre cei mai iubiti DJi din lume, care smulge la fiecare show siruri nesfarsite de aplauze.

Eu am fost incredibil de norocoasa sa am ocazia sa-i adresez cateva intrebari, nu doar pentru mine, ci si pentru voi, asa ca va invit sa ne bucuram impreuna de raspunsurile lui.

1. Monden.info: Your music is heading towards new directions. It’s become edgier, a bit more electronic. How did this happen and what’s the reason behind it?

Tiesto: It is my progression as an artist. My music reflects all the different musical influences that I have been listening to, which includes a lot of indie rock, electro, techno and house and I draw from all of these when making new music.

2. Monden.info: What are the fans’ reactions towards this new style?

Tiesto: My fans are always very supportive of what I do and they have been amazing, they seem to be really enjoying my music and that’s what is most important.

3. Monden.info: Have you ever discovered any interesting DJs in your travels around the world?

Tiesto: I am always looking to find new music and new artists from all different genres and there are many great artists out there. Henrik B and Dada Life are really great – check them out!

4. Monden.info: You have a huge fan base on Twitter and Facebook. How does that help you connect with your fans?

Tiesto: Social networking is a huge part of what I do. I love that I can be in touch with my fans whenever I want and be close to them. I’m able to interact with them directly and that is what is so great about the online world. I am amazed that I have almost 5 million Facebook followers, my fans are amazing!

5. Monden.info: You rocked The Mission Dance Weekend in Romania! How was that experience for you?

Tiesto: It was great! I love performing and it was a great show, the vibe was electric!

6. Monden.info: What were your expectations about your new album, Kaleidoscope?

Tiesto: It was a great album to make. I worked with some amazing artists on it such as Tegan & Sara, Nelly Furtado, and Kele from Bloc Party. I feel that it brought together a lot of my musical influences really well. It was also amazing to rework these tracks on the new Kaleidoscope Remixed album, I worked with some of the best producers in the game and I was able to put a fresh new spin on the best Kaleidoscope tracks.

7. Monden.info: There are a lot of collaborations on Kaleidoscope. Do the vocal artists you work with influence the songs? How does it work?

Tiesto: Definitely. We work together to create a record that brings both my style and theirs together to make a great record. The artists I collaborated with on the Kaleidoscope album hugely influenced me and it was amazing to work with some of the most talented people in music.

8. Monden.info: Is there any place in the world you’d like to play in and haven’t reached yet?

Tiesto: I have been lucky enough to play in so many amazing places around the world and to so many people. Why not reach further? As far I know there still is not a DJ who has performed on the moon!

9. Monden.info: What is your favorite upcoming DJ?

Tiesto: Dada Life are really hot right now, look out for them in 2011.

10. Monden.info: What does a worldwide famous DJ do on his free time? Does he have any?

Tiesto: My schedule is very busy most of the year, so in my free time I love to sleep and recharge my batteries for the next run of shows! I know it’s not very rock ‘n’ roll but it’s true!

11. Monden.info: What is, according to you, the greatest power of trance music?

Tiesto: It is amazing to see how dance music has crossed over to mainstream music. Lots of interesting collaborations are taking place between DJ’s and more mainstream pop, hip hop and indie artists and this shows how powerful dance music is. I think its electricity and vibe has a huge influence on people and allows them to have fun, that’s the best part!

12. Monden.info: Can you tell us a little something about your new project: A new dawn?

Tiesto: I can’t say too much at the moment so you’ll have to wait and see but I’m working hard on it and I hope the fans will enjoy it too.

1. Monden.info: Muzica ta se indreapta catre noi directii. A devenit mai agresiva, un pic mai electronica. Cum s-a intamplat acest lucru si care e motivatia din spatele lui?

Tiesto: E progresul meu ca artist. Muzica mea reflecta diferitele influente pe care le-am asimilat ascultand muzica si includ indie rock, electro si tehno, din care-mi iau elemente atunci cand creez piese noi.

2. Monden.info: Care sunt reactiile fanilor fata de aceasta directie noua? Tiesto: Fanii mei ma sustin tot timpul si sunt minunati! Se pare ca muzica mea le place foarte mult, iar asta e cel mai important pentru mine.

3. Monden.info: Ai descoperit DJi interesanti in calatoriile tale prin lume? Tiesto: Intotdeauna incerc sa descopar muzica noua si artisti noi din diferite genuri si sunt o multime de artisti extraordinari in lume. Henrik B si Dada Life sunt foarte buni – sa-i ascultati!

4. Monden.info: Ai o baza de fani imensa pe Twitter si pe Facebook. Cum te ajuta asta sa tii legatura cu fanii? Tiesto: Socializarea online e o parte foarte importanta din ceea ce fac. Imi place la nebunie ca pot tine legatura cu fanii mei si ca pot fi aproape de ei. Pot sa interactionez direct cu ei, iar asta e lucrul minunat despre lumea online! Sunt uimit ca am aproape 5 milioane de fani pe Facebook – fanii mei sunt extraordinari!

5. Monden.info: Ai incins atmosfera la The Mission Dance Weekend in Romania. Cum a fost aceasta experienta pentru tine? Tiesto: A fost minunat! Iubesc sa mixez si a fost un show foarte tare, fiindca atmosfera a fost de-a dreptul electrizanta!

6. Monden.info: Care sunt asteptarile tale de la noul album, Kaleidoscope? Tiesto: E un album pe care l-am facut cu mare drag. Am lucrat la el cu artisti minunati, precum Tegan & Sara, Nelly Furtado si Kele de la Bloc Party. Simt ca acest album a adus impreuna multe influente muzicale intr-un mod foarte reusit. A fost o experienta foarte placuta sa lucrez din nou la piese pentru noul album Kaleidoscope Remixed, la care am lucrat cu cativa dintre cei mai buni producatori din industrie, cu ajutorul carora am reusit sa dau un sound si mai fresh celor mai bune piese de pe Kaleidoscope.

7. Monden.info: Sunt o multime de colaborari pe Kaleidoscope. Iti influenteaza piesele artistii vocali cu care lucrezi? Cum functioneaza colaborarea? Tiesto: Cu siguranta. Lucram impreuna pentru a creea o piesa care sa aduca stilurile noastre impreuna si sa o faca foarte bine. Cei cu care am lucrat pentru Kaleidoscope m-au influentat enorm si a fost incredibil sa lucrez cu cativa dintre cei mai talentati artisti din muzica.

8. Monden.info: E vreun loc din lume unde ti-ar placea sa mixezi si nu ai ajuns inca? Tiesto: Am fost extrem de norocos sa mixez intr-o sumedenie de locuri minunate din toata lumea si in fata multor oameni extraordinari. De ce sa nu tind catre mai mult? Din cate stiu, inca n-a mixat nici un DJ pe Luna!

9. Monden.info: Care este DJ-ul tau preferat dintre cei care sunt in plina evolutie? Tiesto: Dada Life sunt foarte tari acum. Sa fiti cu ochii pe ei in 2011.

10. Monden.info: Ce face cel mai cunoscut DJ din toata lumea in timpul lui liber? Are asa ceva? Tiesto: Programul meu este foarte incarcat mai tot timpul anului, asa ca in timpul meu liber imi place sa dorm si sa-mi incarc bateriile pentru urmatoarea serie de show-uri! Stiu ca nu e foarte rock ‘n’ roll, dar e adevarat!

11. Monden.info: Care este, in opinia ta, cea mai mare putere a muzicii trance? Tiesto: Este incredibil faptul ca muzica dance a devenit un gen de mainstream. Au loc o multime de colaborari intre DJi si artisti de mainstream din pop, hip hop sau indie, iar acest lucru arata cat de puternica este muzica trance. Cred ca energia si vibe-ul sau au o influenta puternica asupra oamenilor si ii ajuta sa se distreze, iar astea e partea cea mai buna!

12. Monden.info: Poti sa ne spui cate ceva despre noul tau proiect, A new dawn? Tiesto: Nu va pot spune prea multe acum, asa ca va trebui sa asteptati pana la lansare, insa lucrez din greu la el si sper ca le va placea si fanilor.
