Premiile MTV EMA de anul acesta au fost lipsite de surprize si prea multe controverse, singurii care au reusit sa atraga atentia asupra evenimentului de la Rotterdam fiind rockerii de la Green Day, care au avut cateva cuvinte de zis impotriva lui Donald Trump.

Castigatorii serii au fost The Weeknd, care a plecat acasa cu premiul pentru cel mai bun videoclip, Starboy, in timp ce Drake a luat titlul de Best Hip Hop, iar un alt conational al lor, Justin Bieber, a castigat la trei categorii: Biggest Fans, Best Canadian Act si Best Song – Sorry.
